Poetry Tuesdays – Deep Wounds by Donald G. Harmande

Deep Wounds

Scarring makes flesh strong
Since skin becomes toughest at this point
Righting forever
All that was wronged.
And so for the spirit
This truth applies;
The wounds of discord
Command action of one’s
Deepest convictions
Taking precedence over
Just words.

  1. Don, what a beautiful poem. It reminds me of two things…One is St Paul telling us that it is in weakness that we are made strong.The other is something someone once told me that really resonated with my faith and life journey; where the wound is the healing will be. Thank you for sharing your words with all of us here.Fran

  2. I relish the thought that in our weakness we are made strong…it gives such hope and meaning to life.

  5. Wonderful. This really speaks to me.

  6. I often ponder the fact that I cannot believe that I have written my poems since I’ve always said to anyone who would listen, the words are from the Holy Spirit which guides my thoughts. It is an awesome feeling which makes my eyes fill up with wonder. I thank God every day for this gift and ask that it will always stay in my heart.Donald G. Harmande
