Advent Reflections - O Antiphons, O Oriens, December 21. 2011

Our antiphon for today is O Oriens, or O Radiant Dawn. I love this imagery of Jesus, bringing light to what was once dark.

O Oriens, splendor lucis aeternae,
et sol justitiae:
veni, et illumina sedentes in tenebris,
et umbra mortis.

O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice:
Come, shine on those who dwell in darkness
and the shadow of death.
